EnviHUT is a part of the outdoor testing premises of the Brno University of Technology research area. EnviHUT is the first implemented testing and learning object in the planned installation of measurable full-scale experiments. There are over 120 sensors tasked with consistently monitoring the constructional physical behaviour of the whole building in the roof and on the walls of the building.
The EnviHUT research team searched for a suitably aggressive environment for its project to assess the impact of hard climatic conditions on the tested building, thereby accelerating the degradation of possible structural defects. The building is exposed to frequent gusts, torrential rain as well as increasingly frequent long periods of drought more recently.
Thanks to the international collaboration with partner universities and research institutes from Reykjavik (Reykjavik University), Zürich (ZHAW) and Vienna (BOKU), the research team of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Brno University of Technology maintains an up-to-date overview of modern trends in the area of the applied research.
